Help from other schools

Can help be commissioned from other schools?

Yes, for small schools or schools with particular staffing or other difficulties this could be a good option. Costs of the “support” mentor’s time may need to be covered. For some schools the LA may assist with the process of identifying suitable support from other schools, although schools are, of course, free to make their own arrangements. The “support” mentor could offer assistance with:

• Observation – moderation, consistency

• Curriculum expertise and training for the ECT

• Ensuring all tasks connected with induction are completed within expected timescales
